Education & Prevention

PURPOSE: We hope to further our mission by providing child abuse prevention, awareness, and education to the community.

CAC Awareness:             
A presentation bringing community awareness on the topic of child abuse, the purpose of a CAC, and the services we provide to protect and serve our children. Length: 60 – 90 minutes.

Your FIRST Response to Alleged Child Maltreatment:

A presentation covering the signs and symptoms of child abuse and the roles and responsibilities of a mandated reporter. Length: 90 – 120 minutes.

EmpowerMe! K- 6th Grade Child Abuse Prevention Education Kit:

A curriculum created to help children learn about personal safety in an empowering and positive way. This kit is designed to help facilitate those important conversations so kids can walk around smart, not scared.    

EmpowerMe! Adolescents:

A presentation that emphasizes on the importance of being smart, not scared. It provides awareness and protection tools for youth such as understanding and reducing their vulnerability, making informed choices, and standing up for themselves and others. Length: 90 – 120 minutes.

Problem Based Learning - Simulation:

Community professionals will use the Problem Based Learning—Simulation (PBL-S) to develop the workforce’s trauma-informed experiential reasoning skills (TIERS). Participants will engage in simulations that increase critical thinking skills while incorporating the 12 Core Concepts for understanding traumatic stress responses in childhood (National Child Traumatic Stress Network). Length: Full Day or split into multiple sessions.

From Trauma to Resilience: Comprehensive Trauma-Informed Care Training:

Studies have shown that adverse childhood experiences and traumatic events can have a lasting, negative impact on a person’s health and well-being. This training is designed to help you develop the unique skill set needed to support individuals who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and traumatic events. Length: 4 hours or split into multiple sessions.

A Safer Sanctuary:

Specifically developed for those in the faith community to train those working with children and adolescents on recognizing the signs of abuse and reporting requirements. Also assists faith communities in developing policy and procedure to protect themselves from allegations and situations of abuse. Length: 60 – 90 minutes.
